The Second Concert of Macedonian Music in Singapore

The second concert of Macedonian music in Singapore took place on 18 September 2022 at the Upper Concourse of the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay.

For this concert, Boyana brought together a group of musicians from Singapore and Macedonia, whom she personally selected and led. Among them were her very good friends Irena and Stefan, as well as Singapore-based percussionist Navin Kumar Nagpal.

By inviting these musicians to perform with her, Boyana created an opportunity to share the rich musical traditions of Macedonia with audiences in Singapore.

A Musical Connection Between Cultures

This time, Boyana chose Navin Kumar, a musician of Indian heritage, to join the ensemble. India and its culture have always held a special place in Boyana’s heart. She deeply appreciates Indian music, its rhythms and cultural traditions, as well as Navin’s artistry as a musician.
For Boyana, music is more than a performance. It is a way of bringing people together, celebrating different cultures and creating connections that transcend geographical and cultural boundaries

A Journey Home and a Special Bond

Around this time, Boyana travelled to Macedonia to visit her family and spend time with her father, to whom she was deeply connected.
Being with her family, and especially her father, gave her renewed strength and a sense of emotional upliftment. Despite his ongoing recovery from throat cancer, their bond remained a profound source of love, inspiration and strength.
Her father’s presence in her life meant far more than words could express. Their connection was rooted in a deep understanding and a love that transcended the challenges they faced.

A Little About Boyana's Family Lineage

Boyana comes from a family lineage connected to the heritage of Nikola Tesla, one of the most remarkable inventors and scientists in history.
Boyana Fabel, originally Trbojevic, feels a deep connection to this heritage and to the broader understanding of life, energy and the interconnectedness of all things.
Her spiritual outlook has led her to believe that life and death are not separated by absolute boundaries, but are part of a greater existence in which we are all connected. She finds comfort in the understanding that energy and matter cannot simply be destroyed, but continue to transform.

Seeing Beyond Illness

Boyana never saw her father as a victim or merely as a patient. Their bond was too strong, and her perception of him went far beyond his illness.
Instead, she saw him as a wise, deeply evolved soul, a man of science and intellect who was also filled with love for his daughters.
His strength, wisdom and love continued to inspire her, even during the most challenging moments of his life.
For Boyana, this connection was a reminder that love reaches beyond physical circumstances and that the bonds we share with those closest to us can remain a source of strength, meaning and inspiration throughout our lives.
